Thirty feet from the waters edge, our spectacular oceanfront, ground floor, one bedroom, Poipu condo, has fantastic snorkeling, famous surf spots, and incredible sunsets. Everything you desire in a dream get-away is located on the sunny South Shore of Kauai. Surfers know this location as one of the best surf spots on Kauai’s south shore: PK’s, Centers, and Acid Drop. Two of the most famous snorkeling spots are a few feet away, Lawai Beach on the right and Prince Kuhio Beach on the left of our condo. You can watch humpback whales, spinner dolphins, and sea turtles from the living room and lanai. Our Kuhio Shores condo is right next door to one of the best restaurants on the island, The Beach House. Less than five minutes away, you can golf on two major golf courses (Kiahuna Country Club and the championship Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course). Our one bedroom, one bath, 865 square foot condo sleeps up to four people. Completely remodeled in Dec. 2007, it now has travertine tile through out, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances and two HDTV's. It has been decorated with a tropical Hawaiian flair with unobstructed views from the living room, dining room, kitchen, and, of course, the lanai. Here you can enjoy the swaying palm trees, warm tropical breezes, and the most beautiful sunsets on earth. Features include a king-size bed, queen sofa sleeper, and fully-equipped kitchen. We have tried to include everything possible to enhance your comfort and enjoyment. Some of the attractions you can enjoy include a helicopter ride to see the island and fly over the famous Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of Kauai). You may want to visit the Fern Grotto and Spouting Horn (which you can walk to). Restaurants and shops are only a few minutes away in Old Koloa Town (circa. 1830) or the Poipu Shopping Village. You may also want to visit the quaint town of Kapaa, the Kilauea Lighthouse and Port Allen. Keywords: Condominium
The photos displayed and information in the web posting were accurate. We were extremely pleased with the location of the property and the upscale amenities in the apartment. The views were spectacular. We watched whales occasionally, turtles a few times and surfers all the time from our lanai and living room. A fact that may give an idea of the ambience and comfort of this apartment is that we preferred dinner at home to going out. Cooking was a breeze! The Koloa Fish Market provided fresh fish and shrimp plus cooked meals to go and is an easy 10 minute (or less) drive from Kuhio Shores. Parking was convenient and available. Staff of the condo complex were cordial and friendly. Karen, the owner, was fully responsive to our queries and requests. Our experience was completely satisfying and we do not hesitate to recommend this property to others.

My wife and I have been coming to Kauai for years, but have never stayed at this property before. The condo’s decor has a Hawaiian feel and is clean and well maintained. The view from the lanai is insane. People from all over the Poipu area all come here for the sunset views. We watched the sunset every night from our Lanai. Great surf spot out front as well. We loved everything about it and will definitely be coming back again. Make sure you get a bottle of the Koloa Rum Punch drink to enjoy the sunset view as well. Aloha!

I have stayed at Kuhio Shores before x3 and I just love it here. This is my first time at Karen's property and it was very comfortable and love being so close to the water.

Perhaps the best patio location for viewing sunsets, surfers, and turtles as they make their morning visit to the shoreline surf. Next door is an excellent happy hour and upscale restaurant, and a small sandy beach withgood snorkeling. The nature of being on the bottom floor means you can pull out chairs for the best sunset views and easy access to above activities. But it also means it's wise to lock up the windows at night, and that means you lose out on falling asleep to the sound of the ocean. Also for those sensitive to smells, notice some that were likely from cleaning chemicals that faded over a few days.

The location and amenities are just as described in the VRBO listing. Central to all Islands offerings, yet secluded. At the door, upon entering, a island theme greets a visitor. A wall of glass, invites one to the beautiful lawn where it is absolutely the perfect spot to sit, relax, and take in the gorgeous view. We will return. The overall experience was fabulous!

This condo has it all. Ground floor patio that opens up to ocean -20 feet away! So fun to watch surfers, turtles, sea lions, breath taking sunsets & stars. Perfect location on the island: beach to snorkel around corner, restaurants & shopping all close, quick access to all excursions, best weather (rainier up north), & less traffic. Condo has all the comfort & amenities you need. Beautiful place to slow down & enjoy life. Can’t wait to come back!

We love staying at Kuhio Shores. The location is fantastic and can’t be beat. We loved waking up to the ocean view and viewing the amazing sunset every night. The condo was super clean and had everything we needed. We used the AC at night and really appreciated it. The updated kitchen is gorgeous and functional.

We loved our stay in this oceanfront, ground-level unit! Opening up the sliders, hearing the surf, and watching the sunrises and sunsets were the best part of our stay here. We loved the location of this building and unit--it was right on the water and close to shops, restaurants, and beaches. This unit is spacious for a one bedroom, one bath. The kitchen is well equipped with nice appliances, plenty of dishes, and a few starter supplies. The building was right next door to The Beach House restaurant and we were lucky enough to see whales in the cove as well as a stunning sunset one night. Beach chairs, boogie boards, a beach umbrella, and a small cooler were very much appreciated and helpful to have on hand. Parking was plentiful and water taps in the lot made it easy to clean off muddy and sandy shoes. Shared laundry is available (just be sure to have lots of quarters). The only cons: The bathroom is small and a bit tight. This may be a personal preference, but we found the sofa cushions and mattress to be very soft and lacking in support. All in all, this is a very well-located unit and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Karen's Condo was such a special place to stay and enjoy during my time in Poipu. Everything was clean and as presented. Opening it up in the morning to hear the ocean waves (and see who was already out surfing) was such a lovely way to begin the day. It is well located, parking was always available, and I would love to be back there now!!

The view from the porch was everything! Everything you could possibly need for your stay is inside this place. Every morning you got to see the sunrise and the sunset from a gorgeous view were waves crashed against the rocks. It's also centrally located in the best part of the island.

Aloha Karen, and thank you for sharing your beautiful condo with us! We have never before stayed on the ground floor while on vacation, because watching the waves come in is a priority for this land-locked family, and we always want to make sure the views are good. After carefully viewing your video, we decided to take a chance, and we have never been more pleased! We loved being so close to the surf, and the view from the condo and the lanai was stunning! We loved just walking out the lanai and being only a very short walk from great snorkeling. Thank you for to providing every little thing travelers from the mainland could want in your condo. We appreciated it so much! Words just will not do justice. All I can say is that if someone is considering a trip to Kauai, your condo is on the top of our recommendation list! Mahalo, and best wishes!

We spent 7 nights at Kuhio Shores #117. The owner, Karen was very helpful and 100% responsive for any questions. This property is close to every attractions of west, south & east so you don't need to long drive to Poipu, Spouting horn, Waimea, Port Ellen and etc. Also, if you surf, this is the best spot to rent because PKs & Center surf spot is right in front of the property. Reef in front of property allow us to see tons of fish and turtles very easily. You will see turtles on the 1st day for sure. It was amazing trip for our family and definitely, we will plan to come back here. Aloha.

Overall a beautiful condo right next door to the very taste-y Beachouse restaurant where people congregate to watch amazing Hawaiian sunsets. Would have liked a few more ideas on favorite places and activities on the island, but Karen was great to work with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in paradise!

Great location for surfing, snorkeling, and enjoying the waves. We watched surfers every morning and evening right outside the patio door. Good snorkeling at Lawai Beach a 1 minute walk west - more good snorkeling 2 miles east at Poipu State Park. Swimming and beach play is so-so - very little sand at Lawai Beach. Incredible sunset view from common area behind patio (and from the restaurant bar next door). Condo is perfect for 2 adults. A bit small for 2 adults plus 1 or 2 small children. Everything was clean and in good condition. Kitchen was well-stocked with cookware, plates, cups, etc - excellent if you want to cook some/all of your meals. Cell signal is only usable in bedroom - better in parking lot. WIFI was good. We'd definitely rent it again and/or recommend to others.

The condo was everything we expected it to be. It was very comfortable for our family of three. The ocean is right outside the patio door. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets and sunrises daily. It was nice having beach gear available to us as we explored the island beaches. Wonderful shopping and restaurants are conveniently located near the condo. We would recommend this lovely place to friends and family. We hope to visit again soon!

If you want to stay outside of the resort ares, outside of the more urban area, and away from the isolation of the North Shore, this is the place for you. Kuhio Shores is close to the wonderful small historic town of Koloa. All of the amenities are close by, but on the Shores you feel you are closer to a less rushed, more casual time. The unit makes an visit an enjoyable time. Well stocked with everything you need, you can enjoy the afternoon sunset with surfers just off lawn which is in front of the 1st floor unit. You cannot go wrong if you are looking for a place to stay on the South Shore.

We really enjoyed our stay at this condominium. It was situated in the perfect location. The condition of the unit was in very good condition. The kitchen was well furnished. Beautiful walking areas right from the condominium. There is a great shopping center in walking distance that has all of the best restaurants to choose from and lots of great shopping. It also has a fantastic boutique "whole foods" type store called Living Food. The condo is situated in a location that offers unbelievable sunsets. A typical day ends with bringing out the chairs in front of the condo and watching the sunset & surfers. I would highly recommend this rental.

From the beginning, Karen was easy to work with, quick to respond and very helpful when we needed info. The condo has everything you need to enjoy your time on Kauai from beach chairs, cooler and snorkel gear, to comfortable furnishings so lanai time is easy. We celebrated our 45th anniversary with our first ever visit to Hawaii, but won't wait that long to come back! Mahalo, Karen. You and your home are truly gems!

This place is right on the water. There is a nice lawn area, then a dropoff of about 5 feet to the ocean where there are tidepools. The sandy beach is just a short walk to the right. Excellent restaurant The Beach House is right there too. We found the neighbors super friendly so we BBQed with them several times. The condo was great, plenty of room but be aware no air conditioning. It was not really an issue though, ceiling fans do the trick.

One of the tricks trying to book a once-in-a-lifetime anniversary trip to someplace faraway is the fear factor -- sure it looks good, but what if it doesn't measure up. You won't have that problem with Kuhio Shores #117 and owner Karen Arnold. I thought our trip to Kauai could never measure up to the anticipation, but it surpassed it. The island is stunningly beautiful and the accommodations are wonderful. A couple of things to love: Kuhio Shores is an L-shaped building. #117 and the higher numbered units are on the ocean (rather than cove) side. It makes a big difference for views and ambiance. It's on the first floor. Some folks might be put off by people wandering past occasionally on the shore path, but the ability to walk 30 feet from the kitchen to the Pacific Ocean was amazing. Finally, the Beach House beach next door has spectacular snorkeling. Being able to walk over early in the morning or late in the afternoon for 20 minutes is like adding extra days to your vacation. Other people on the island might drive an hour to get there and it's THE activity for the day. Stay here and you can do it as your daily routine and THEN go hike the cliffs or take a boat tour or explore the island. And it's easy because Karen has all the equipment you need in the unit. Including two floaty noodles, just the thing for two 50-something first time snorkelers. (Plus towels, coolers, beach chairs, etc.) (And the well appointed bathroom with the stone shower is luxurious.) I know I shouldn't post this review, because it will make it that much more difficult to find available dates when we try to come back!

Loved staying in this condo! It was perfect! Easy to get to, and a perfect location. We had been told that one of the best restaurants on the island is the Beach House, known for their magnificent sunsets on the ocean. It was a wonderful surprise and bonus to find that this restaurant was just a few steps away from our lanai! We ordered food for take out one night and had dinner there another. Wonderful! Enjoyed the breathtaking views from our condo; so fun to watch the surfers and sea turtles! I enjoy snorkeling and it was as good here as anywhere else on the island! Karen was so easy to work with, and their condo is exactly as you see on photos! Would definitely stay here again!

This condo on the first floor was fantastic. Being able to walk out of the condo directly onto the lawn to see the surfers and the sea turtles, or just walk over to the restaurant or beach next to us was so fun. It was also very quiet and private, which we loved. Karen was wonderful to work with- very accommodating. The condos are just a short drove from Poipu Beach and Shipwreck Beach, which are wonderful. So easy to navigate from the condo to anywhere on the island. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Karen.
